IMPLEMENTATION

The Westside Evolves plan lays out an ambitious long term roadmap for equitable, sustainable, and holistic revitalization of the community and the families who live here. The plan is a concept - a development framework that allows for flexibility and scalability as new opportunities emerge, or assumptions change. Over time, the plan can be adjusted to reflect changing market conditions and other local factors. However, the vision and goals set forth are intended to remain as guiding principles for all future activities.

Reimagining the James A. Henry Building & Sheila Jennings Park
Fall 2021 - Spring 2022

Beginning in Fall 2021 the Westside Evolves Implementation team built on the neighborhood planning outcomes by launching a design process for the historic James A Henry building and adjacent Sheila Jennings Park. The design process for the building and park, key landmarks identified by the community for investment, was led by local architecture firm SRR & Associates in collaboration with Moody Nolan and Hawkins Partners, Inc.
